Fisk University has been a historically black college in Nashville, Tennessee since 1866. The school was originally founded by William H. Johnson in 1866. The original school still exists today and is the second oldest in Tennessee.
The Fisk University curriculum includes many courses that include English Composition, History, Mathematics, and a Science curriculum. It is also home to many different clubs and activities that are designed to give students an academic experience similar to what you would find at other universities. This is not your average community college as there are more professors and lecturers to help students with their studies.
The two major sections are Business Administration and Criminal Justice. Both of these majors are very different but also have very distinct goals in mind. Business administration majors have the goal of becoming successful executives or managing a large business. Criminology majors aim to educate students with the goal of becoming a police officer or prison guard.
When choosing a major to attend Fisk, you need to be aware that there are other universities that offer this type of education. For example, Vanderbilt University and The College of St. Benedict all offer an online Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Each program will provide a more academically rigorous program than Fisk does and may have its own set of classes and learning standards. You also have the option to earn a Master's degree from one of these other schools.
There are also degree programs offered in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. These two programs are designed for students who want a broader field of study. Each of these programs will prepare you for the job of a business executive and a police officer respectively and will provide a better education for those who want to pursue a career in one or both of these fields.
A Bachelor's degree program can be completed in less than four years. In order to earn your degree, you must have a minimum GPA in each class and pass both the first and second semesters in order to earn a degree. In addition, each student must complete a portfolio where they present their academic work in a chronological manner.
To become licensed with the state of Florida after graduation, students need to complete an additional two years of residency. Students can pursue an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice or an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration through Fisk University. Both of these bachelor's degree programs will provide you the . . . . . . necessary skills to be successful in the job world of your choice.
With all of the advantages that Fisk University has to offer students, it should come as no surprise that these programs are highly sought after. When considering a program to go to college, you may want to consider attending Fisk University.
