Other than that, they usually don't have too much responsibility for kids other than supervising them during classes. That is why they do not need special licensure to teach science.
For teachers who wish to further their education and become full-fledged scientists, then getting a bachelor's degree is the best option. Teachers will have to take general education courses in science, including math, physical science, chemistry and biology. After this, they can apply for the teaching positions in schools where they want to work.
