Harvey Mudd College is an independent private school focused on science and technology and located in Claremont, California. It is incorporated within the Claremont Colleges that shares adjacent campus facilities and student resources. Students at Harvey Mudd College can also take courses at the other four independent Colleges.
Students who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Humanities may enroll at the Harvey mudd college for their first two years of college. During their freshman year they are required to participate in an internship with the campus as well as complete one or more of the assigned associate's degrees. During their sophomore year students can again participate in an internship and this time choose to continue on to an associate's degree. At the end of their junior year, students have an option to either declare a major or choose to double their bachelor's degree with a double major. Upon graduation, they should be in their best academic standing and will be able to enter into the graduate program.
The campus of the Harvey mudd college is located in Florence, Colorado. The college's main campus has about 1350 student beds and about a hundred dorms. Each dorm is equipped with modern furnishings and is somewhat private with their own bathrooms and kitchens. Most of the dorms are large so that there is plenty of space for students to stretch out and research even in large rooms.
The College maintains a core curriculum that is used in teaching all students, but they also allow for the option to choose certain courses to take online. This allows for many students to fulfill their basic education needs without having to travel to a college campus. Online courses are supported by a strong community of students and faculty that work together to ensure the success of each new member of the school. Students can earn a two-year degree through the Harvey mudd college with the liberal arts major being one of the easiest to earn a degree through.
Students who choose the Harvey mudd college to enroll in assume leadership roles once they graduate. Students assume the role of either an instructor or a professor depending upon their major of choice. They assume leadership roles not only in the academic community at the college, but they also assume leadership roles in their surrounding community. Students who are majoring in the humanities and social sciences assume leadership roles as education leaders in their communities at the colleges. It is these students who are able to use their expertise and knowledge to help their fellow students who may be in need of additional assistance.
Students who are majoring in the arts and sciences may choose to teach one of the three concentrations within the humanities and social sciences. These students may teach one of the courses in the four-year degree plan at the Harvey mudd college. Teaching is one of the important jobs within any school and students who choose to teach may also elect to do so as an art and human science major or even a communications major.
